Saptkoteshwar Temple: Pramod Sawant’s government in Goa seems to be active regarding the restoration of the ancient and historical temples of the state. The government is conducting a survey of such temples which were destroyed by the Portuguese. After renovating one such 350-year-old Saptakoteshwar temple, the Sawant government inaugurated the temple once again on Saturday (February 11). This work of the government was appreciated by PM Narendra Modi to Home Minister Amit Shah. In this sequence, the reaction of Goa’s CM Pramod Sawant has also come.
He has said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj renovated the Saptakoteshwar temple which was destroyed by the Portuguese. The same temple has been renovated again and was inaugurated today. It is a matter of pride for us. The BJP government started the restoration process in the year 2019, after which the then Archeology Minister Vijay Sardesai took the initiative.
Congratulations to PM Modi and Amit Shah
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have congratulated the Goa government on the restoration of the historic Shri Saptakoteshwar temple. He said that this will strengthen youth’s connection with spiritual traditions and promote tourism in the state. Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet on Saturday, ‘The renovated Shri Saptakoteshwar Devasthan, Narve, Bicholim will connect our youth with our spiritual traditions. This will give further boost to tourism in Goa.
Along with this, Union Minister Shah also congratulated the Goa government for reopening the historic temple after renovation. He wrote in his post ‘After being attacked by many invaders, the temple was rebuilt by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Now as a major pilgrimage site, it will attract tourists from all over India.
Pramod Sawant also expressed gratitude
After congratulating PM Modi, state CM Pramod Sawant also reacted to his post. He wrote in the tweet that PM Narendra Modi With your continued support, in this Amrit Kaal, Goa is working towards promoting and developing cultural and spiritual sites to further promote tourism in the state.
